• Abanicarse - to fan (el verbo)
• Abanico - handheld fan
• Adelante-Go ahead
• Agua del grifo - tap water (as opposed to bottled)
• Almorzar-to eat lunch
• Alumnos - students (en vez de estudiantes)
• ¡Ánimo! - Come on!
• Arreglarse - to get ready (make-up, get dressed...)
• Aseos/servicios – bathrooms, toilets
• Aula – classroom
• Ave- bus system
• bachillerato - high school
• Bañador – swimsuit (traje de baño)
• Bañar - to get in and out of the pool (to take a dip)
• Billete - ticket
• Botellón – cheap drinking outside the old city walls, pregame, out on the street
• Caerse bien - To be agreeable, or to get along with (a person). e.g., Juan me cae bien.
• Café con leche – a shot of espresso with milk
• Carnet – ID card
• Carnet jóven- a discount card for people under age 26 traveling in Europe
• Casco viejo - the old historic part of a city
• Castellano – Spanish, from Castilla as opposed to another part of spain
• Catalán, gallego – other languages spoken in Spain
• Cenar-to eat dinner
• Céntimos – euro cents
• Césped- yard
• Chaval- guy, loosely
• Chorizo - sausage
• Chupito – shot (in a bar)
• Churrería- una tienda que vende churros
• ¡Claro! – of course, duh!
• Claro/cerveza con limón-beer with lemonade
• Coger- grab, get, take hold of, collect, reach, catch (vulgar in Mexico and other countries)
• ¡Coge la bandeja! - Get your tray!
• Comisaria – police station
• Concentración – Major in college
• Contactar con – get in touch with
• Copa – vaso
• La corrida - bullfight
• Creo que… – “I think…”
• ¿Cuánto vale?- How much does it cost? (more local than ¿cuánto cuesta?)
• Cura – priest
• Curriculum vitae – resume

• Descalzo - barefoot
• ¡Descansa! - similar to “sweet dreams!”
• Descansar - to rest
• Desperados - a kind of beer
• Dime - Tell me, go ahead (at a restaurant when someone is taking your order)

• Leche desnatada- skim milk
• Madre mía – Oh my God
• Manzanilla - dry sherry (vino blanco)

• Meter - to put (into)

• RENFE- the train system, one of the most confusing websites in the world (Red Nacional de Ferrocarriles Españoles)
• Saber como- taste like
